Chewbacca

Hi there! My name is Chewbacca, but you can call me Chewie for short.

I’m a senior Pomeranian, and I’ve had quite the journey to get here, so I like to take things slow at first. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was a bit nervous, but I made sure to meet everyone slowly and make sure they felt comfortable with me, just like I wanted to feel comfortable with them. I’m all about understanding, so I’m happy to let my new family know about my past and help them learn how to approach me – gentle and patient, that’s what I need. Once I get to know you, I’m a loyal companion.

I will usually ignore other dogs and keep my distance, though I do appreciate calm and social ones who are happy to have a quick sniff then be on their way. If you have another dog at home I will need to meet them first to make sure we are a good match.

As for my ideal home, I’d really prefer someone who is home more often than not. I love company and enjoy the presence of my people around me, so being left alone too long isn’t my favorite thing. I’m not too demanding, just looking for a warm lap to curl up on and a family who understands my need for comfort, patience, and a little extra love. If you’re looking for a sweet senior who’s all about peace, comfort, and companionship, I’m your guy!
