About Tommy
Tommy is a happy boy who is a hoot to be around. He loves playing fetch with his toy mouse with the kids in his home. He also loves going beserk inside empty shopping bags, which cracks everyone up.
He particularly loves the kids in his home and really looks forward to them coming home from school. He loves pats and scritches behind the ears, particularly from the kids.
He's absolutely fine on his own at home during the day, and will just have snooze on a cozy blanket or the lounge to pass the time, or will sit by the window watching the world go by.
He can be a bit shy around new people, but once you give him the time to get to know you he's really friendly and purry.
Tommy has always been an indoor cat. He's been on his own and hasn't really been around other cats or dogs, so he's untried on that front. He was originally adopted from the rescue about a year and a half ago, but due to unforseen family circumstances, his owners are now moving overseas and they can't take him with them. We're hoping that Tommy will find a new home and family to love him.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
