About Sandy
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Children over the age of 10
With her beautiful, soulful eyes and the softest fur, Sandy is ready to steal your heart. This affectionate and easy-going girl has been loving life in foster care, but now it’s time for her to find her forever home.
Sandy walks beautifully on a lead, especially when strolling alongside her foster brother. She enjoys sniffing her surroundings and sometimes needs a little guidance to stay on track, but she never pulls or freezes—just happily takes in the world around her. A 20-minute walk morning and night is all she needs, though she also loves a good zoomie session and would be up for more walking time if you are. Afterward, she’s more than happy to settle in for a long snooze on her favourite fluffy bed, often flashing her adorable cheesy grin while she sleeps.
She’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on cuddles. The moment you open your arms, she’s there, nudging her way in to soak up every bit of love. Sandy enjoys the company of other dogs and loves a walk or play session with her foster brother, but she also likes her own space at home. I think Sandy would cope as an only dog, but would love a friend. Sandy adores people and thrives on attention. She can jump occasionally and does get excited when you come home, so a home without small children would be ideal.
She’s a calm and quiet traveller but needs a little help getting into the car. Sandy happily finds a quiet spot to rest—even sleeping through storms. She has also mastered the stairs with confidence and sometimes likes to collect little treasures around the house—your shoes, socks, or other belongings—though she never damages them, just enjoys a bit of re-decorating!
While she’d love a home where she gets plenty of love and companionship, she’s been perfectly content staying home while her foster mum works, spending her day napping inside or lounging outdoors. Sandy would fit beautifully into many different homes—whether as a solo dog or with a companion, she has been in a quiet home but she just needs a family who understands and respects her need for a quiet spot to snooze the day away! As long as she has regular walks, a cozy bed, and plenty of cuddles, she’ll be right at home.
If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, and slightly quirky companion with a love for cuddles and the occasional treasure hunt, Sandy is ready to fill your life with love.
