About Arlene
Arlene – how does one describe Arlene?
Arlene is a 6 year and 2 month old Shih Tzu.
Arlene came into care after retiring as a breeding girl and from the minute she has come into care she has made everyone who meets her smile or shake their head at her antics!
Arlene’s zest for life is one of pure beauty and happiness and love!
Arlene is full of life, love, sass and happiness!
She has a large as life personality and can be cheeky but also so loving.
Arlene is charming, affectionate, and a playful companion who loves adults, kids, and other dogs!
Arlene is currently with different dogs of different personalities, age, size and energy level and has absolutely no issues with any of them!
Arlene has a love for life that just makes you smile – whether it be with her cheeky ½ toothless mouth or the tail wagging or the stomping of her feet as she goes off to tell something off – she makes her foster mum laugh.
Arlene loves to groom other dogs and also loves to try and groom her foster mum some nights at nighttime – her foster mum has decided it as something like rough love and sandpaper on the arm. Arlene had a sleepover for a few nights at another carers home but no human grooming was done!
Arlene loves to groom other dogs – we think the grooming is her love language to say I love you so much – not stay still while I groom you!
Arlene does loves to have a small play with another small breed dog (her preferred play friends are a Shih Tzu or a miniature poodle) who will wrestle a bit with her and play a bit of chase on the bed.
Arlene has not been tested on cats – but she would probably happily groom them as well.
Arlene is good with kids and just loves to smile, tail wag and love everyone
Arlene weighs 7.4kgs
Arlene loves to spend time inside and outside (at her choosing) she knows how to use the doggy door and will happily walk to the beat of the music playing in her head on whether she is inside or outside – she loves both but is not a dog that should be left outside for hours a day.
Arlene will happily sleep away some of the day on the couch, human bed or a dog bed.
Arlene loves going out and about with her humans (she does have some lead sense but the rest is simply her walking to her own beat!) Arlene would love to be that family member who goes in the car with her humans, coffee shops and just fun places where she is part of the hussle and bussle of life.
Arlene does have selective hearing and will give you a sassy little grin or completely ignore you if she thinks that works best for you - all it does it bring another smile to your face as she is so happy.
Arlene is toilet trained.
Arlene would absolutely love a home where someone is home often to give her attention and love (of course she is, she's a small white fluffy - when you have ever seen them say noooooo go to work and I will run the house for 8+ hours????
Arlene would love someone who works from home or doesn’t need to work and can take her on adventures or who will be outside doing some gardening so she can supervise help or just generally be a part of having a blast.
Arlene does have a coat that requires grooming so please remember that is a life time commitment
Arlene would love to be part of a home who wants a loyal companion, a buddy who will laugh at her antics and her zest for life!
Until you meet Arlene you will not truly know the truly amazing girl she is - apply now and be prepared to have this awesome girl as part of your life!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
