About Elton
Every Greyhound Has a Story…
This is Elton’s. 🐾💜
Elton is still searching for his perfect forever home — and while he may be the quirkiest greyhound to home, we know his person is out there. Someone with the heart, patience, and quiet understanding to help this beautiful boy continue to grow and accept his beautiful quirky self.
🐾 Meet Elton – our sweet, floppy-eared softie with a gentle soul and a face you’ll never forget. He’s cat tolerant, great with people once he knows you, and has a way of making every little moment special.
💜 Shy but Worth It
Elton can be a little unsure of the world, but with time and trust, his happy personality shines through. He adores cuddles and scritches, quietly becoming your shadow without ever being clingy or demanding.
🐶 Solo Act
Elton loves other dogs, but he’s happiest being the only dog in the house. He’s independent, easy to live with, and happiest in a quiet, calm environment. Think: a peaceful home, a comfy couch, and no pressure.
🐱 Cat Tolerant
He’s met many cats (and even lived with one) and handled it all like a champ—Elton is fine with indoor or outdoor feline friends.
🍖 Food is Life
This boy loves his food! Which makes training easy and bonding even easier. Mealtimes are his favourite time of day.
🚶♂️ Walks on Elton’s Terms
Elton enjoys greyhound group walks and absolutely thrives on the social aspect. But his daily exercise at home is on his terms. When he wants to go out, he gets excited to have the lead on, heads out the front door… and might just walk to the mailbox, the corner, or the verge for a sniff and a wee. Maybe further. Maybe not. And that’s absolutely fine.
🌳 His Dream Home Looks Like This:
• A quiet, calm household
• A comfy couch and a safe backyard
• A routine he can count on
• No other dogs
• A person or family (elderly welcome!) who understands his pace
• Greyhound group walks and no expectations beyond love and safety
🧠 Medical Notes:
Elton experiences some anxiety, but is doing well with gabapentin to help him settle and manage outings. With time and routine, this can be gradually reduced and possibly stopped altogether.
✨ The Life He Needs Is Already Being Lived…
What Elton truly needs is the life his foster mum gives him — calm, predictable, gentle, and kind. A home that embraces his quirks, celebrates his little victories, and lets him go at his own pace. No expectations. Just love.
If you’ve got a heart big enough for Elton, he’ll reward you tenfold. With snuggles, smiles, and quiet companionship, he’s ready to start the next chapter of his story.
📩 Reach out to meet Elton today. He’s waiting for someone just like you.

Medical notes
Has anxiety but is currently taking gabapentin to assist with this with success. He only needs this for settling in, and walking.
Once he has settled into his home and family this can be reduced and removed.
Adoption details
All BTG greyhounds are Desexed, C5 Vaccinated, Wormed & Heart Worm treated prior to adoption.
They have been fostered for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow maximum training and preparation for home life.
A post adoption trial period of 4 weeks is available to help families decide if the greyhound is the right one for them.
We also offer Foster to Adopt options for those who love the idea of teaching a greyhound in their home with the view to adopt it once it has "graduated" to Home Life status. This is a wonderful experience, to watch it blossom in your own home with your guidance and love. An ideal way to make sure this is the perfect dog for you.
