About Bonded pair
Beautiful boys looking for a forever home
Name: Bentley
Breed: Chihuahua X
Date of Birth: 08/11/2020 - 4 years, 6 months
Colour: Black and Tan
Medication: Fluoxetine 10mg per day, taken at night
Bentley is an absolute little sweetie. He needs a lot of reassurance that he is a good boy and that he is loved.
Bentley is still very timid and nervous, whilst also being happy and playful. He is always waiting at the front door when you get in and is so excited to see you. He loves cuddles and affection and being told he is a good boy.
Bentley will often roll over onto his back for a belly scratch but also to show he is not a threat. When we tell him it’s time to go to bed, or outside, or to hop off the couch he will roll over instantly.
Bentley is good on the lead, he has been doing 45 minute walks daily and does not pull ahead on the lead.
Bentley likes to be with people but is also not super clingy for a long period of time. He will jump on our bed in the evening and we let him have a cuddle with us before we put him in the laundry area for bed. He will lick you face and snuggle in for a few minutes, but then often goes to end of the bed and lays on his own. He will do the same on the couch, he will sit with you for a bit then will go to the other end and sit on his own.
He loves exploring the back garden and sleeping on the bed.
Rosco
DOB: 09/07/2019 - 5 years, 8 months
Breed: Chihuahua
Gender: Male
Colour: Light/Tan
Medication: Phenomav 30mg 1.5 tablets per day (1/2 tablet in the morning, 1 full tablet at night)
Diagnosis: Idiopathic epilepsy - Seizures date back to 2 years of age (from a Facebook video that the previous owner posted of him having a seizure asking for advice).
Rosco is an absolute little love bug. He likes to be touching you 24/7, the more cuddles and pats the better, he cannot get enough!
Aside from his medication he is quite low maintenance. He enjoys a 30 minute walk a day and 2 small meals (breakfast and dinner).
He is always very eager for the first 5 minutes of a walk, trying to run and sniff everything. He seems unaware of his limits so we will need to stop and let him catch his breath, I think he would otherwise keep charging until he collapsed. He then will settle into a normal pace.
He is not too fussed on other dogs when walking, although he may yap if he spots a big dog near by. He is a little overwhelmed at larger parks, for example if we walk him around the suburbs he is a lot better, when we take him to Carine open space for walks he seems to get very overwhelmed and excited and takes about 5-10 minutes to settle, he will yap a lot initially if there are a lot of other dogs around.
Great with children. He has not snapped or growled at anyone since we have had him, and I cannot see it ever being an issue. He is quite trusting and just wants lots of love.
He is easily startled and would enjoy a quiet home.
Snorts sometimes in his sleep, it is quite cute.
Gets cold easily, will definitely need jumpers in the winter months.
Likes to sit at the window and watch the world go by and do security if other dogs walk past, aside from that he is not very vocal does not yap or cry.
Rosco seems to be the boss and enjoys putting Bentley in his place with playful fights. A bit of a bully sometimes to little Bentley. If Rosco decides he wants to sleep on Bentleys bed that night he will, and he won’t move.
Overall, an absolute delightful sweet pea, very easy, would suit someone home more often than not and someone he can sit next to on the couch and cuddle. Loves to be touching. Just wants to be loved and give love.
