Although she was shy and nervous when she first entered foster care, Ava has made amazing progress thanks to her dedicated and loving foster family. While initially reserved when meeting new people, she needs just a little time to warm up and show her delightful personality. Ava is an explorer at heart; she's curious and loves to roam, displaying signs of blossoming independence while still enjoying the comfort of being close to her humans.
Ava thrives in a calm environment, making her an ideal companion for a quiet household. She can coexist with another small, gentle dog, having formed a special bond with her foster fur sister, Sophia. If you're seeking a solo furry friend, Ava's developing independence means she would also enjoy being the only dog, as long as loving humans are around.
This gentle girl enjoys leisurely walks, hopping around the backyard in playful spurts, and the occasional game of chase. She may not be too interested in toys, but she does have a fondness for a small ball with treats inside. Ava is well-behaved during bath time and loves being brushed, though she isn't a fan of the hair dryer.
A secure yard with grass, shade, and shelter is essential, and a doggie door for easy access to the indoors, where she loves to snuggle, is a must.
