Introducing Bud Dee (Buddy) an energetic and affectionate 11-month-old Labrador / Greyhound mix – the perfect embodiment of a loyal and playful companion that anyone would be lucky to have by their side! Bud Dee is a sweet slender 28 kilos loving and adventurous sweetheart
Buddy is an exceptionally handsome boy, boasting a sleek, shiny black coat.
His personality is reminiscent of a Labrador, known for their friendly and outgoing nature, making him an ideal friend for both humans and other animals alike. He possesses the long, graceful legs of a greyhound, giving him a striking and elegant look that is sure to turn heads wherever he goes. This combination of traits makes Buddy not only a stunning looking boy but also a delightful and energetic companion who is always ready for an adventure or a cozy cuddle session.
Buddy’s happiest moments are spent in the company of people. Whether he’s lounging nearby, keeping a watchful eye on the household activities, or curling up next to you on the couch—if you permit him, of course—he thrives on human interaction. Buddy has already undergone some basic training and is familiar with commands such as “sit” and “come.” He also has a good understanding of boundaries and knows where he is not supposed to venture.
Buddy’s Favorite Things:
Playing at the Park: Buddy has blossomed into a social butterfly, thriving on the opportunity to run and play with other dogs that are polite and have good social skills
Walks & Exploring: Buddy has a keen sense of adventure and loves to explore his surroundings. He enjoys sniffing every tree and bush along the way but is well-behaved on a leash, walking without pulling.
Being Indoors: While Buddy loves the great outdoors, he has a strong preference for being inside with his human companions. He may whine a little if left outside for extended periods, but he eventually settles down in a sunny spot by the door.
Food: Unlike many Labradors, Buddy enjoys his meals without the tendency to overeat. He maintains a healthy appetite.
Toys: Although Buddy is not particularly interested in playing fetch, he has a penchant for shredding soft toys lol, typical puppy behaviour.
Personality & Interaction:
With People: Buddy is a bundle of joy in the morning, greeting you with excitement and small jumps. A gentle reminder of “A-ah” is usually enough to curb his enthusiasm. He craves affection and will often lean his head against you for cuddles if you sit down. Despite his love for companionship, Buddy is independent enough to entertain himself.
With Other Dogs: Buddy is a social creature who plays well with other dogs. He particularly enjoys games of chase and being chased. While he can be a bit exuberant and bark for play he is always gentle. Buddy has previously lived with another dog and would love an energetic female to play with.
Obedience & Training:
For a young pup, Buddy is remarkably well-behaved. He sits on command and thrives on praise and pats. However, his recall needs some improvement, especially when distracted by other dogs. He also requires training to heel properly during walks and is best walked on a slip lead. Nevertheless, Buddy is eager to learn and responds well to a firm “A-ah” when he makes a mistake.
Independence & Home Life: Buddy prefers company and may whine initially if left outside for long periods but usually finds a sunny spot by the door to settle down. Occasionally, he might bark at passing dogs or interesting noises but is otherwise quiet. Inside, Buddy is well-mannered inside but like many young dogs is still learning to distinguish between his toys and household items like shoes or cushions, so he shouldn’t be left unattended indoors without supervision .
Hygiene
Easy to care for coat
He is fully toilet trained and takes himself outside when needed.
Exercise & Activities: To keep Buddy happy and healthy, he needs daily exercise. His current routine includes an hour of play at the park , 30-minute neighborhood walks every other day, and the occasional game of pounce or chase to keep things fun.
Travel & Sleep: Buddy is a great travel companion, riding well in the back of a car, especially if he can look out the window—he associates it with trips to the park! When it comes to sleeping, Buddy is content on a dog couch in the sunroom but is just as happy on a soft rug. He very occasionally may wake up to bark at nighttime noises but settles quickly.
The Ideal Home for Buddy:
Buddy would thrive in a home where he can receive daily exercise and regular interaction with people. A moderate-to-large backyard would provide him with ample space to explore.
He enjoys human company so we are seeking a home that will have him inside when you are home.
Buddy would do well with another playful female dog—he loves canine friends!
While Buddy is tall and might be a bit too much for very young children, with supervision, he is a gentle and affectionate companion.
