About Finlay
Say hello to Finlay, a clever and sweet-natured Kelpie mix pup, looking for a safe and loving home.
Born on October 1, 2024, Finlay has quickly captured hearts with his unique blend of charm and intelligence.
His mum is a Kelpie, but his dad is unknown. Given that Finlay’s two sisters, in particular, are quite petite, we think dad was a small breed dog, perhaps a terrier or a dachshund or a mix of both.
He weighs about 12 kgs.
Finlay’s keen mind and cautious nature make him an observant companion who loves to take in his surroundings and thoughtfully assess situations before jumping into action.
Undoubtedly a clever pup, he will have no difficulty making the transition to his new home and bonding with his new family.
Eager to please, keen to learn and very attentive, Finlay has the potential to be a super dog, whether as a star at agility or simply the best family or companion dog around.
With his Kelpie roots, he is a ball-play enthusiast, ready to chase and retrieve with delight. He has excellent recall.
Whether it's a game of fetch or just a romp with his littermates outdoors, Finlay is sure to bring joy and companionship to an active household.
He’s dog and cat friendly and great with kids, even toddlers. He’s also respectful of the chooks at his foster home.
Crate-trained, he sleeps through the night. He is also house-trained.
Finlay is an inside-outside dog and is definitely not suited to solitary life in the backyard.
He will thrive in a home where he’s treated as an integral member of the family and where someone is around most of the time ‘cos Finlay loves human company
Secure fencing, as always, is essential.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
