Rex is a very handsome fellow who loves his people. He will come and ask for pats by pawing or nuzzling your hand. He likes to settle down close to his people and keep an eye on them. Rex is a big boy, and mainly has good manners in the home. He mostly keeps four paws on the ground, but can get a bit bouncy briefly when excited or when he sees his food bowl. He has been fine with dog-savvy primary school kids, and they thought he was the best!
Rex enjoys his daily walks although he is quite strong on lead when excited and may bark at dogs who bark at him or are allowed to get into his space; he's calm however if he has a buffer and a polite introduction. He walks best wearing a head halter but if his new owners want to put in the effort he would also benefit from obedience classes. Rex is fit and healthy and while he loves his exercise and would be a great running buddy, he is also happy to laze around at home most of the time.
Rex can be a bit uncertaIn of things or situations that are unfamiliar, but quickly sees that there's nothing to worry about. He's good with the medium size dogs he has met in his foster home and has a mellow, happy temperament with them. Untested with cats or other animals.
This lovely fella would fit easily into most active, confident homes.
MEDICAL NOTES
Rex had a fatty lump on his side which has been surgically removed in our care. The lump was benign but due to its size was impacting Rex's comfort when lying down.
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership fee), flea and worm treatment and sterilisation.
ADOPTION NOTES
Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your own dog if applicable), a home check (or photos of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
All adoption fees must be deposited into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts (we cannot accept cash). The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.
After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of ownership of the dog's microchip to the new owner, and email out the vet records.
