Kobe

Affectionate and clever boy with a heart of gold.

Kobe is an affectionate and clever 5 year old Golden Retriever cross Poodle. He is toilet-trained and will communicate when he needs to go out to toilet. He is very social and intelligent, with plenty of potential for advanced training. He is food and affection motivated and respectful of boundaries once established (Room restrictions, furniture, jumping). He will be best suited to a person or family that enjoys cuddles and licks - especially laying on your lap/chest together on the couch. One of his favourite places.

He is occasionally anxious, particularly around other dogs and uncertain situations (e.g. crying children). He does not appear to have any aggressive tendencies around food or new people, but may whine and pull at the lead or need instruction to wait on his bed while guests are welcomed. Kobe is untested with cats, he has only been tested with a small number of dogs.

Kobe needs at least an hour of walking across the day to feel exercised (loves to run) and he is very responsive to walking techniques to prevent pulling. He has improved tremendously on the lead since he has been in his foster home but would still benefit from an owner that can maintain and strengthen these good walking habits. Ideally some formal training would be perfect for him. Kobe can easily make the day his own if you are out of the house for a period of time, though he has not been left alone for extended periods.
