About Beryl
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Beryl is an affectionate kitten and likes to follow us around but can be skittish at times.
She has been a fighter from day one in care, even when she was unwell, and can be feisty when playing.
She loves playing with toys and wrestling with the other foster kittens.
My Ideal Home:
Beryl needs a home where she will be loved and kept safe.
What is Known About My Background:
Beryl came into care in late October 2024 at about 4-5 weeks old weighing only 237 grams. For comparison her brothers were approx 600 grams.
Beryl suffered significant cat flu during the early weeks of her life leading to failure to thrive. She suffered marked ocular changes as a neonate. As a result, Beryl's eyelids (that are normal sized) were oversized in comparison to the size of her eyes and were rolling inwards to such degree that hairs were rubbing both ocular surfaces (entropion).
Surgery was carried out before Christmas to alleviate this discomfort until Beryl had time to grow and there had been concern that the left eye may require removal.
Beryl has now grown appropriately and the temporary eyelid stitches have been removed, her vision assessed and no further treatment is required.
A full medical history will be supplied to the successful adopter.
How Do I Interact with Kids, Dogs, Cats and Other Pets:
Beryl would be good with gentle children but may hide from younger or energetic children.
She would be fine with a cat-friendly dog as she is very comfortable with the resident dog and especially likes to play with the dog's tail.
She is comfortable with the resident older cat and is enjoying playing with some new foster kittens.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
