About Andy - 5 Month Old Jack Russell X Fox Terrier (Tri
Andy is the perfect mix of sweetness and playfulness, and he’s ready to bring all the cuddles and joy into your home! This adorable 5 month old Jack Russell x Foxy puppy is looking to meet his forever family so he can share his endless love and affection in return for some tummy rubs and tug of war game time.
Andy came into care with is brother Archie, who looks identical to him except for his little white markings on his ear. They are both active and looking for fun and adventure wherever they can find it.
Andy is a little character with bundles of energy to burn. He enjoys chasing the other dogs in care, playing tug of war and splashing in the paddle pool to cool off. Andy has no fear of approaching larger dogs during play and can hold his own while wrestling despite his small size.
Andy has mastered the doggy door and will take himself outside to use the bathroom and play. A washable wee mat has been used for extended time when he is in the puppy play pen and he is able to use this successfully. Andy is still learning his name but shows a lot of interest when he hears a whistle or encouraging call to come. Andy has also shown interest in learning to sit and will do so for a short time prior to being given his meals. Andy and his brother are currently sleeping in a crate and he will take himself off to bed when he is worn out from play.
Andy will grow up to be a small sized dog. You will need secure fencing, with no gaps around the base(rural and mesh fencing will not be accepted). Due to his age, Andy will need someone home more often than not, and will need to be supervised with any larger dogs in the home until they are both settled. He would love to live with people who welcome him inside, and he will need to sleep inside at least until fully grown. Andy will be a wonderful family dog and will be suitable for those with young children, though he will need help learning manners including not jumping and nipping. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Andy’s adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
Andy is in foster care in the Hunter NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he is 5 to 6 months old.
