About Ricky
Ricky is a gentle young man. He is a little reserved but does soon relax meeting new friends, especially if there is a cuddle or pat involved.
In his foster home, Ricky is super affectionate and delights in cuddles and every type of scratch, tickle or pat you can come up with.
Ricky has taken to pet life in his foster home very quickly. He thrives on routine and will chill for most of the day when his humans are at work. He enjoys the company of his foster brother, another greyhound. They get on very well and will investigate things and play together but then happy to take themselves to separate parts of the house for some alone time.
Ricky is usually quiet and calm but does have his moments of energy and excitement. He is learning to play with toys and loves to collect things to take to his bed.
Ricky also likes to find a spot where he can look out the window to see what’s happening in the world. He is also fond of gazing at himself in the mirror too. Who is that handsome boy ?
On his walks, Ricky can be a little apprehensive about noises unfamiliar sights. He is growing in confidence but needs some reassurance at times. He does want to be a brave boy and cherishes his walks. He walks well on lead
Ricky, our soft, goofy boy will bring welcome joy, love and a few laughs to his new home.
No cats or small dogs
No full time workers unless some working from home or there is another dog

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
