About Richard The Lionheart
Richard the Lionheart is a feline with a heart as strong as his roar.
Once a loyal protector of his kingdom, he is now in search of a new royal family to serve and defend.
Whether it's keeping out wandering villagers with ill intentions or guarding against the terrifying dragons that occasionally visit the land, Richard is always on alert. He's quick on his paws and sharp in his instincts, never letting a threat slip by unnoticed.
Richard is a highly dedicated and faithful companion who believes that a king or queen deserves a protector who will not only fight for them but also stand by them with unwavering loyalty. He's regal, strong, and always calm under pressure, making him the ideal guardian for any royal household looking for a majestic protector.
That's not true at all, in all honesty Richard the Lionheart is a gentle and loving, large medium-haired solid black cat who is the epitome of a laid-back snuggler.
If you're looking for a relaxed, affectionate friend, Richard is your guy. He may not be the most energetic, but he more than makes up for it with his calm, loving demeanor and a strong preference for cozying up with his humans. Think of him as your very own couch cushion, only far more purr-worthy!
Richard thrives on attention and affection, and he's happiest when nestled beside you for some quiet cuddle time. He is seeking a family that appreciates the simple joys of a furry friend who just wants to be loved. Whether you have children or not, Richard will fit right in, bringing warmth and companionship without the need for high-energy play.
Although he prefers a mellow lifestyle, Richard might be open to sharing his home with another feline or even a friendly canine companion. He's a good-natured guy who loves the comfort of companionship but doesn't demand anything too crazy-just some love, some pats, and maybe a lap to claim as his own.
If you're looking for a sweet, chill cat to add to your family, Richard is waiting to become the king of your couch!

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
