About Cara
Meet Cara, a sweet 3-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of potential and a spirit waiting to blossom. Cara’s journey has been one of gradual transformation, and she is in search of a calm and understanding home where she can continue to thrive at her own pace. Despite being scared and nervous, Cara has already made some progress in overcoming her initial fear aggression. With the love and care of a dedicated new family, she will flourish and show just how loving she can be.
Although Cara may be hesitant around some dogs, she has shown the ability to coexist peacefully with certain small dogs. With her timid nature, it's important to provide a safe, nurturing environment without undue stress. Currently, walking on a leash is challenging for Cara due to her fear and attempts to slip out of collars, so an enclosed and secure space where she can feel secure and explore as she gains confidence would be ideal.
The best family for Cara would be one with patience and a gentle touch, someone committed to offering her the time and gentle consistency she needs to grow comfortable in her new surroundings. With your calm support and encouragement, you'll be rewarded with witnessing Cara's transformation into a happy, loving pet who feels safe in her environment. Are you the one who can open your heart to Cara and help her realize her full potential? She's ready to meet you and start a beautiful new chapter in her life.
Medical notes

Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
