About Bluey
Bluey is a lovely young dog. Aged nine months he has a lot to learn but luckily, he is very intelligent and eager to please. He is a very active dog and will suit a family who will walk him daily and has enough time and patience to continue his training.
Bluey makes for fantastic company. He loves to be around humans but doesn’t demand attention – he is very happy to just be in the same room as you or sit by your side at a café peacefully. He loves to run but is also satisfied with walking and is mostly very well behaved on a leash. He is also learning to play fetch with a ball so that his new family has an easy way to exercise him.
Bluey is working on basic commands and is very food motivated which makes him easy to train. He is house trained, and will whine at the door to go out when he needs to. Bluey has been sleeping in a crate at his foster home and will happily go in there at night with no complaints.
While out in the community Bluey is very friendly and polite around other dogs, and loves to play at the dog park etc. However, he has been getting a bit antagonised by the dogs in the neighbouring yard at home and does bark at them sometimes. This is something that he is working on, but it may be a consideration if you share a fence-line with an excitable/aggressive dog.
But despite this he is very good with meeting other dogs out walking. He also needs continued support with training around the road as he will try to chase cars when excited, however his road training is coming along very quickly, (especially if you take a handful of kibble along on a walk). Bluey came from a family with two school age children who he loved.
Overall, Bluey is a beautiful dog, he loves to cuddle up with his humans and responds well to positive reinforcement. He will make fantastic company for the right family.
