About Liam O’Cleary
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/adopt/
Liam O'Cleary is the sweetest boy and a devoted lap dog. He is a really
good boy - pretty calm and chilled. He adores his humans and all Liam
wants is to be with you as much as possible. He doesn’t mind what you
are doing, as long as he is with you all is well in his world.
Liam walks amazingly well on lead. This sweet boy is okay with dogs he
knows, but is wary of new dogs. He isn’t aggressive but will gently bark
if he feels nervous. Liam is a lovable boy though and once he gets to
know his new furry companion they very quickly become friends.
A great home for Liam will see him with company for most of the day –
his humans are everything to him and he doesn’t cope well with being
left alone. He has stayed home with his foster dog sibling while his
people were out and managed well with the company. Liam is house trained
and can use the doggy door. We are working with Liam on basic commands
but he is a smart boy, happy to work with you and this will see him move
forward in leaps and bounds with his training. Having seen how much Liam
loves to play and hang around with his canine buddies our preference is
definitely for him to be rehomed with another dog. Because he can also
be a little tentative initially, we are advised this continued exposure
would be best.
Does Liam sound like the sweet and loving companion you have been
waiting for? There is no doubt he will wriggle his way into your heart
just like he has done with ours.
Liam is untested with cats.
Thank you to Liv Morison of Liv Morison photography and Dianne Firth of
Di Firth Photography for the fantastic photos of Liam.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Weight: 30kg.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
