About Sootie Newhaven
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

Sootie is an active, sweet AND sassy girl! She loves going on adventures, a walk on a long lead, a swim or a visit to a cafe with her favourite people. She has an active mind and enjoys learning new tricks, and PLAY. She could play all day non stop if she could! Her favourite games include tug, find it games and fetch with her ball!
She is definitely an introvert at heart. Sootie makes friends easily when she is allowed time to warm up to them, however she prefers to keep to herself and 'her' people!
Sootie is very neutral around dogs, and happily walks past them and can be off lead around them. However she doesn't enjoy the company of other dogs and prefers her own space. She doesn't mind pack walks and walks with other neutral and respectful dogs, however she is NOT a daycare or dog park dog! Because of this Sootie would do best as an only dog, or with an older, neutral male dog! She definitely prefers human company over dog company!
She is a VERY affectionate dog, and she loves cuddles, napping on the couch in your lap, or sitting at your feet. She is capable of being left alone for few hours at home without too much fuss.
She has not been tested around children, so older respectful children would be preferred. She doesn't enjoy being picked up!
She has an awesome sense of humour and loves to be cheeky. She needs an owner who also loves a cheeky dog- but is also able to set clear, firm boundaries. Sootie can definitely push boundaries if she thinks she can get away with it!
Sootie is an absolute joy and constant entertainment. She deserves a home where she can have a whole box of toys and it's the Sootie show everyday!
Thank you to Jocelyn Gan of Gumtree Studios for the fantastic photos of Sootie.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped,
wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals,
surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm
testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. We look forward to receiving your application.
