About Duke
Duke is ready to adopt
Currently located in viewbank Victoria
I am Duke and I am a 2 year old staffy cross. My foster mom tells me I am the handsomest boy in the Northern suburbs. Look at my pictures and you will agree!
I love people, and I love cuddles and getting pats. My favourite thing to do is to chill on the sofa, while you watch TV. I will happily share my big bed with you, and snuggle up for a cuddle when you need it. I am learning to sleep in the crate, and I can snooze in there for a few hours when my foster mom goes out. I might bark for a bit when she heads out, but I eventually settle in my crate while I await her return. I am not destructive when left alone and haven’t chewed a single slipper or cord. I know how to toilet outside, and if you have a doggie door, that would be awesome. I don’t have one now, but I can hold it until my foster moms lets me out.
My energy levels are in the low-medium range, and I love my nana naps. I am always happy to go for a walk (or run if you up for it) but at the moment, I get 1-2 short walks/ sniffaries a day. I am learning how to walk like a gentleman on a leash, and if there are no dogs around, my loose lease walking is good. If there are dogs around, I get over stimulated and will try and pull you over to meet them. I can react negatively if dogs get too close. For this reason, I need to be in an only dog household. I will be starting training soon, to learn how to keep my cool when I see dogs out and about on a walk. I have learnt basic commands in 3 weeks and can sit (and stay) and I am learning recall and to come on command.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE food and I am not fussy with food. Food left on a table is just a challenge to me so don’t leave me in a room when food is within my reach. My foster mom is teaching me table manners but what can I say, I am a hungry boy. I was on the skinny side when I arrived but I put on 3-4kg and I am a healthy 23kg now.
I love riding in cars and I am always up for an adventure. If you are ready for me to part of your family, put in an application and we’ll be in touch.
