About Jimmy
Jimmy is looking for his forever home or a foster home.
Jimmy's new home requires the following:
- A home without another dog.
- To be allowed inside when his people are home and to sleep of a night.
- Not to visit dog parks.
- Continued training walking on lead, (to seek training advice if needed, a trainer can be recommended).
- His people home often.
- A secure yard.
Jimmy is a almost 4yo Jack Russell, most likely crossed with another smaller breed but weighs in about 7kgs. He is a cuddly little dog that prefers human company more than dogs. Whilst he can meet other dogs out and about, he will thrive better in an only dog household.
Jimmy seems to be mostly house trained however we would recommend supervision for his first week or two just to make sure no accidents occur. He is polite with food and taking treats and is happy to meet new people and get a pat, but sometimes can be aloof (never aggressive).
He has met a 9yo child and was extremely polite, did not jump or get over aroused so a home with well mannered kids is acceptable. He has been working on his crate training without issues and will give a whine in the morning if he needs to go out to the toilet.
His on-leash skills need a little work but as a little dog he doesn’t pull to hard and will follow leash pressure if proper guidance is given. He has been desexed and has a clean bill of health – due to his breed focus must be placed on his dental health but with the appropriate diet and chewing items this is easily managed.
He travels well in the car, mainly just laying down and is not reactive.
Jimmy wouldn’t enjoy dog park visits as he would find them overwhelming, he much prefers to go on an sniffing walk with his humans. He isn’t a high energy dog and has not shown any signs of destructive behaviours.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
