About Rex
Rex is the sweetest eight year old German Shepherd who has come to us from a country pound, and is now looking for a new home. Rex has a gentle soul who trys very hard to please his foster family. He enjoys lots of cuddles and loves to be groomed.
Rex looks like a big fluffy teddy bear, the tips of his ears are rounded and when he smiles he actually has wrinkles at the side of this smile. Don't let his age deter how active he is especially now he has lost excess weight due to a better diet and daily exercise. His most favourite thing to do is chase a ball and bring it back to you by throwing it in the air. He loves his walks and runs in an open paddock with all his other fur friends and he keeps his night kennel and warm bedding immaculate. He always waits to go outside in the morning to toilet in the paddock.
Rex has had some training with Bear the Dog Behaviourist for some loose lead training, is social with his foster friends, knows his bed command and sits and waits for his dinner.
Rex would love the company of a chilled and relaxed fur friend but has not at this stage been tested with cats or pocket pets.
Being a large breed dog he is not suited to a home with young children.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what Rex will give in abundance when he connects and builds that trust with his new owner.
If you understand the nature of a German Shepherd, have recently owned this breed, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider Rex.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about Rex" or go to our website and complete the application form.

If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Rex. If for any reason he doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing him back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
