Meet Maximo!
Maximo is ready to fill your life with quirky fun and endless love! This dynamic little guy thrives in a calm household with lots of companionship-he currently lives with five humans, two cats, and is always close to someone, whether it's for a cuddle or some playtime. Though he's independent when needed, Maximo loves to keep a toy nearby, preferably his beloved "hidy toy" with his three monkeys. Watch out though, he's got a knack for plucking eyes from plush toys, so he'll need a stash to keep him entertained!

Since joining his foster home, Maximo has shown just how social and adaptable he can be. He watches and learns from everyone around him, including the cats, and knows when to steer clear if one cat gets a bit "bossy." It took him about a week to start initiating play, but now he's all in-zooms in the morning, a play session in the afternoon, and cuddles in the evening.

Out on walks, Maximo's excitement shows as he eagerly explores the world around him. He's learning to pace himself and focus, especially around other dogs and is working on perfecting his leash manners. Give him a good sniffing spot, though, and he's content to take his time.

Maximo occasionally mouths hands during play, but with gentle redirection to toys or engaging activities, he quickly focuses his energy in a positive way. He is currently on medication to support his relaxation and overall well-being, and his future family should be prepared to continue his care plan to help him thrive.

Maximo loves neck massages, belly rubs, and the occasional 'booty scratch.' Just be mindful when he's had enough-his sensitive back means he'll let you know when it's time for a break. Because of this, Maximo would do best in an adult-only home where he can be handled gently and respectfully.

While Maximo is all about that goofy energy, he's also a quick learner. He's been mastering tricks and even starting to use a button to ask for outside time. He's still getting used to bath times and is learning that towels are okay, but with some patience, he'll keep improving.

Maximo is an affectionate, smart, and sometimes "cheeky" companion who'll make you laugh every day. With his quirky charm and lively personality, he's sure to bring a bit of chaos and a lot of joy into his new home.
