About Oscar
Tissue alert!
Meet Oscar, a delightful 12-year-old Maltese Terrier cross who's ready to fill your days with love and companionship after a long period in care with us.
He weighs just 5.5 kgs, making him the perfect lap-sized companion.
Oscar's time in care has been all about love and healing. Dumped at the pound in a deplorable state, he was in desperate need of veterinary care and human affection, and his transformation has been nothing short of remarkable.
Our talented groomer, Fran, worked wonders to unveil the charming little dog beneath the tangle of filthy fur and our dedicated vets diagnosed a nasty chronic ear infection that must have been paining him for a long time. The bug proved resistant to non-surgical treatments, so darling Oscar finally underwent a general anaesthetic last month to have his ear drained and at the same time was desexed.
Now healed and as healthy as an old boy can be, Oscar has a new lease on life and is ready a loving home where he can live out his golden years.
Despite everything he's been through, he has a sweet and gentle temperament and gets along well with other dogs. He is respectful of cats and children.
Oscar deserves a patient and caring person or family who will appreciate the special charm of an older dog and be around most of the time to keep him company. Whether it's a quiet home where you can relax together or a more lively household that respects his need for peace, Oscar can fit into your lifestyle with ease.
His heart is full of love, and he's ready to share it with someone who will cherish him.
If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion to brighten your days, Oscar will be more than happy to snuggle up and bring joy to your life.
