This handsome boy is bursting with personality and affection. Nitro lives for cuddles—his favourite place to sleep is right under the covers, tucked up beside you. He’s a super fast learner who’s already fully toilet trained (he’ll wait patiently by the door and even go on cue when you say “go do a wee!”).

Food is life for Nitro, which makes him an absolute dream to train. He’ll sit and wait for his dinner like a little gentleman until you say “yes.” He knows all the basics—sit, shake, gentle, wait, and leave it—and we’re still working on perfecting his recall.

Nitro loves an adventure and has already been camping, hit the beach, and even visited a few pubs! He can get a little overwhelmed in busy environments, but he’s getting better each time and takes comfort in his people.

He’s generally very gentle when taking treats, though might need a little reminder if he gets too excited. Nitro gets along well with all the dogs he’s met, though his playful energy can be a bit much for some calmer pups.

Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’d like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I’ve learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I’ll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me “no” if I’m chewing something I shouldn’t and give me a chew toy instead. I’d love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don’t get bored with them.

 
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations, because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth.
