Meet Steve and Olay!

So many have been struck by Oley’s (right) personable features and he has the temperament to match! The poor fella was left behind at a member of the public’s rental to fend for himself alongside his friend.

The neighbour of this rental took the boys in, knowing that she couldn’t keep them due to owning a dog. Sadly, her toddler let the dog in to where the new arrivals were temporarily living and killed Olay’s friend. Olay also had wounds but since his arrival which was the 12th of August 2024 he has healed well!

Steve (left) was surrendered into our care on the 6th of November 2024 alongside his buddy Bob. Bob was relentless in his humping of Steve so before separating them I trialled them in a larger enclosure - this was unfortunately to no avail which made Steve miserable.

Since then I trialled Steve with Olay, I’ve observed another side to their characteristics - it’s adorable! Not only do the right friends matter to humans they also matter in the animal world! 🥰

As you can see these gentlemen are of the longhair breed, so please only apply for them if you intend of keeping them INDOORS ONLY. We’ve had far too many longhair surrenders come into our care with severe matting, via living outdoors. They’re also happier within a larger enclosure - most males are - so a minimum space of 70x70cm each would be ideal.
