About Sapphire
Please meet Sapphire, a beautiful young female Rottweiler with gorgeous symmetrical markings and a charming temperament. She weighed 35 kgs on 4 February 2025, the day she was desexed.
Just a youngster (DOB 14 March 2024), Sapphire impresses everyone she meets. She was reluctantly surrendered to the pound prior to Christmas. While impounded, she captured the heart of the pound boss, who said he'd keep her himself if a rescue couldn't take her. Still brimming with puppy-like energy, Sapphire's sweet and well-mannered nature shines through in every interaction, making her the ideal companion for an active and loving home.
A social butterfly, she runs happily with the farm dogs at her rural foster home and her bestie is the resident Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Tolerant and gentle, she even gets on with the pugnacious Pug, who's a bossie little number.
She's untested with cats, but her youth and gentle nature suggest she'd probably do well with a proper introduction.
Sapphire loves the company of humans, male or female, and has already learnt her basic manners. Clever and keen to please, she walks well on a lead, sits on command and comes when called, but she is capable of learning much more. She would make a great companion for a strong and confident Rottie lover who wants to take her training to the next level.
This athletic girl relishes a good romp in the back yard but has shown no inclination to jump fences. Despite being understandably anxious when she first arrived from the pound, she settled into her rural foster home quickly and has become the office buddy of choice, chilling out on a dog bed while her foster carer works.
Sapphire likes to know what's going on around her, a testament to her Rottie heritage. Nothing escapes her notice, so she'd definitely be a good dog to have around. She has shown absolutely no aggression in her time with us. All in all, Sapphire is a well-adjusted, outgoing dog with a heart of gold.
She would thrive in an active home where she is regarded as an integral part of the family. She would not do well if left alone in the backyard for extended periods, so a home where someone is around most of the time is preferred. Although not essential, she would love to have a compatible canine buddy to play with.
As always, secure fencing is essential and prior Rottie experience will be well regarded.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Sapphire was desexed on 4 February so will have sutures in place until around 14 February.
