About Sheru
Sheru, affectionately known as Ru or RuRu, is a bright, social, and energetic red cattle pup who has been lucky enough to spend most of his time in care within a loving foster home. Thanks to his foster family's dedication, Sheru has been well-socialised, trained, and adored, making him an incredibly well-rounded companion.
Currently, Sheru lives with an adult staffy, whom he absolutely adores. He has become his foster sibling's little shadow, always following him around, engaging in playful rumbles and endless games of chase. Sheru would thrive in a home with or without another dog, as he enjoys the companionship and guidance of a canine friend but also enjoys his independent play.
Sheru is always up for an adventure! Whether it's trips to the beach, swimming in the pool, or long, sniff-filled walks, he embraces every new experience with enthusiasm. He has even enjoyed outings to dog-friendly pubs and breweries, where he impresses everyone by settling on his mat and snoozing to the delicious aroma of chicken schnittys.
True to his cattle dog heritage, Sheru is highly intelligent and thrives on mental stimulation. He picks up routines within days and has already mastered basic commands. His foster carers are continuously expanding his training, and he enjoys the challenge of learning new tricks. Enrichment activities, frozen treats, and interactive toys keep him engaged and happy.
Like any typical puppy, Sheru has a cheeky side, he enjoys sneaking socks or shoes, not to destroy them, but simply for the thrill of the steal. He takes his prize outside and sits proudly with it, always looking pleased with his harmless mischief.
Sheru has met adults and children of all ages and has been nothing but respectful. He enjoys splashing in the shell pool with the tiny humans and interacting gently with everyone he meets. He has also dabbled in office life as his foster mum's adorable assistant, charming all of her colleagues in the process.
Sheru is looking for a home that will continue his training, provide ample mental and physical stimulation, and offer plenty of love and adventure. He would do well in a variety of households, including families with children or homes with another dog. Due to his active nature, he will need a yard to play and space to explore, as well as ongoing opportunities for adventure and enrichment.
If you're looking for a smart, playful, and loving companion who will bring joy, laughter, and a bit of cheeky charm into your life, Sheru is the perfect pup for you!
