Mokum comes pretty close to perfect for someone who wants a buddy at their feet, their couch, or around their neck. If you let her, she will crawl on you, and wrap herself tight while staring lovingly into your eyes.

As that is a bit hard in real life, she will be with you as much as she can, and when that is impossible, she will find her bed in her crate and sleep.
She loves playing with people and with dogs but is not very adventurous on her own. She accepts the world as it comes. There is little that scares her, or worries her, or that is more interesting than her human or her home.

To her the world is a safe place. When she came to us, she did need to learn things, and although she loves food, ‘sit’ took a few days. Once she understood that, she sat for everything, she just wants to please you so much!

She seems to sense emotions and wants to console you when you are sad or a bit shocked, several people who have met her said she would be a great therapy dog.

We have worked on not jumping up when happy, (she sits instead, or does the cutest nose bop on your leg), and she has picked up ‘drop’ very fast, and is learning ‘shake’. We have had no accidents inside. Leash walking is a bit weird to her (she doesn’t want to leave), but with much praise she is starting to understand that the leash will not strangle her, and she can walk with that thing around her neck.

Obviously, she will need lots of training still, but she will pick things up, if you are friendly to her and encouraging. She stops anything unwanted with a small uh-uh…(followed by a surprised look from her)

The only problem we have encountered is that she loves to make a good comfy place for herself and digs in her bed.

She is the bestest girl, and anyone who is looking for a dog to be by their side while going about their day, would be lucky to have her.
