About Jack
Meet Jack, a beautiful boisterous bundle of love and energy.
Jack was saved from death row at a rural Queensland pound and has spent the last few months in foster care getting plenty of love, playing with his foster fur sister and sleeping in a comfy dog bed.
Jack would make a wonderful addition to a household who is able to give him plenty of daily exercise and enrichment and can dedicate time to take him to doggy school and spend time practising some of those skills at home such as being calm, loose lead walking etc.
Jack loves other dogs and all the humans, in fact he is a bit over enthusiastic and has trouble containing his excitement around new humans who visit the house and small children. He has been practising sitting for pats and attention but this skill is still is still a work in progress so for this reason he would be better suited to an adult or older children home or a house that has plenty of time to teach him to be calm around kids.
Jack loves toys and will happily chase a ball and can entertain himself outside with a bone or toys without been distructive. However he would much prefer to be with his family and his all time favourite activity is playing with other dogs so he would ideally have another dog with similar energy levels to play with.
Jack has been on a 4 day van camping trip with his foster carer and after a little overwhelm in the first 24 hours he realised he absolutely loved camping adventures, and enjoyed exploring, chasing the ball at local ovals and lying by the camp fire with a chew.
Jack really loves his food so he eats from a slow feeder or food toy most of the time to slow him down.
Jack loves local car trips for walks and Offlead time with his fur foster sister and enthusiastically jumps in and out of the car. His recall is great with no distractions however not when there is other exciting things going on as he is a typical kelpie who likes to chase and round up things that move.
Jack has been sleeping on a dog bed in either the bedroom or lounge depending on how he feels and after some practise has learnt 'on your bed' when the lights are out means you gotta chill. He would happily snuggle on the bed if given the opportunity.
Jack is a beautiful, energetic and affectionate boy who can't wait to find a love and adventure filled forever home.
