About Roman
Introducing the handsome and oh so sweet Roman
Roman is a charming and affectionate 13 months old Cavalier King Charles and I'm 7.8kgs.
Roman has come into care from a private surrender and whist a very timid boy when first meeting new people and experiencing new things.
Roman can initially be very reserved and unsure when meeting new people, but as he gains confidence in his carers home he gains more confidence in general........ but has been known to commando crawl over to a new person in the home.
Roman absolutely loves being part of a family and once confident will happily request snuggles and pats.
Roman also loves to snuggle up on the couch and supervise his family and their activities for the day / evening - he will then happily chose when he wants to be involved or to simply observe.
Roman is the sort of boy that you just fall in love with instantly, he really is beautiful from the inside out.
IF meeting Roman people will need to understand that he will take a few minutes to warm up to you but if you give him that time he warms up and shows you the amazing and loving nature he has.
Roman is currently in care with kids, dogs and cats and has no issues with any of them.
Roman is also even happy to help the kids with their home schooling and is a active listener when doing lessons!
Roman will require a home with another dog - this is not only to help him with his confidence it's also something he loves - he loves to play and wrestle and snuggle up with the other small breed dog that is at his foster cares home.
Roman will seek out another dog at his foster carers home to play including zoomies, wrestling, running over their humans when playing chasey and of course the good old hot lava game!
Whilst Roman can happily play with his fur sibling - loud or quick movements can make him unsure so any family that is to adopt him would need to understand that it will be time and confidence building for him.
Roman would not be a boy who would do well being left home alone (or even with another dog) for 8+ hours a day. Roman would love a home where his humans work from home, casual, shift workers etc Whilst Roman is happy to go outside and have a sniff his favorite thing is in the house and being apart of the family.
Roman is currently with cats who he pays no interest in.
Roman loves to sleep on his human bed along his furry brother / sister and ideally would love for that to continue. His second favorite spot is the kids bed but by his choice.
Roman is toilet trained.
Roman currently does not have any leash skills and something that would need to be approached slowly and patiently for him to gain the confidence.
Roman does have a coat that requires grooming. He will need grooms so that his coat stays looking good so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.
So, if you think you’re the home for this beautiful boy who once confident will give you endless love and a lifetime of loyalty and fun.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
