If you've ever dreamed of a big, affectionate snuggle buddy with a hilarious, lovable personality, meet Yoko – a playful, loving American Bulldog who turned 4 in September.
Yoko's greatest joy in life is being with her humans. She's fun, playful, and full of character, with a real talent for making you laugh. Her signature move? Flopping belly-up in the sun, soaking in the warmth and waiting for admiration (and belly rubs, of course).
When she's not sunbaking, she's all about being comfy and cosy — Yoko adores her blanket and loves being tucked up right next to you.Yoko is affectionate and loyal and will attempt to climb into your lap.
What Makes Yoko Special?
✅ Fun personality: She is playful, quirky and will make you laugh everyday
✅ Good natured: While she can be cheeky at times, but she's well‑mannered at heart and genuinely wants to make her humans happy
✅ People-focused: Lives for human companionship and attention
Training & Progress
Yoko is still learning and is currently working with a professional trainer to help with her dog reactivity. With consistent training and support, she is making great improvements. Her good nature makes her highly motivated and engaged during training sessions.
The Ideal Home for Yoko
Yoko would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can be an only dog and soak up all the attention. She makes a great companion, whether it is sleeping by your feet while you work, or playing tug-a-war for hours. She's looking for people who will enjoy her goofy nature, and continue her training with patience and kindness.
Other Dogs: Reactive; currently in training and improving
Cats: Not tested
Kids: Likely suitable for older, dog-savvy children
Training: Knows basic commands and can loose lead walk
A Few Fun Quirks
• She'll test boundaries to see if the couch or bed is negotiable
• Personal space isn't really her thing — closeness is her love language
If you're looking for a big-hearted, affectionate, playful companion who wants to snuggle under a blanket, and keep you laughing, Yoko could be your perfect match. 💛

testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If
a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
