About Spruce
Meet Spruce - The Quiet Soul with a Big Heart Waiting to Shine
Spruce isn't your typical lap cat - but if you're the kind of person who values quiet companionship, meaningful bonds, and the joy of earning a cat's trust, Bruce might just be your perfect match. This handsome boy is FIV positive, which means he'll need to be an indoor-only cat, but don't worry, he's more than happy to watch the world go by from a sunny windowsill. In fact, window-watching is one of his favorite pastimes, along with lounging on comfy perches and scratching away on horizontal scratch boards. Spruce is a shy guy who prefers to engage on his own terms. He won't be the first to run up to you, but give him patience, a gentle approach, and a predictable routine, and you'll start to see his walls come down.
Because of his sensitive nature, Spruce will do best in a calm, experienced older teen/adult home, who can respect his boundaries and appreciate his subtle affection. He'd thrive as a solo pet, where he can feel safe and secure in his own space.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is designed to match you with the right pet, the first time. Our team are experts at rehoming animals who have specific needs that match your lifestyle, to ensure every adoption placement will last a lifetime.
At our Peninsula site, adoption hours are 12pm – 4pm. You are welcome to attend our reception office without an appointment to begin our adoption process during adoption hours.
The adoption areas are not free to walk through, and you will need to chat with our staff to confirm that a potential adoption is a good match.
Once the adoption has been discussed, a staff member will facilitate a walk-through of the adoption areas or have an animal brought to you in a greeting area.
