About Joey
Joey is a true-blue Aussie through and through! At just 12 months old, this Blue Heeler mix is an affectionate, busy, and incredibly smart boy who’s ready to find his perfect match.
Since coming into care, Joey has proven to be a well-mannered, easy-going companion who loves people and dogs alike. He’s always on the go, full of curiosity, and needs plenty of stimulation to keep his sharp mind engaged. Whether it’s playing with his beloved chew toys, exploring the yard, or splashing in the creek, pool, or even the hose—Joey is always up for fun.
Joey thrives on positive interactions and being part of the family. He’s not the type to be happy left in the backyard on his own—he wants to be included in daily life, whether it’s joining you on adventures or just hanging out for some backyard fun. He’s affectionate and will be your shadow, always ready for a cuddle or a car ride with his head resting on your shoulder.
This clever boy is highly intelligent, easily trained, and very food motivated, making him a great candidate for further training. He would excel in agility, obedience, or other dog sports that challenge both his mind and body. Joey would especially love a home with another young dog who enjoys playing, as he thrives on having a buddy to run around with.
Joey shows no signs of separation anxiety, and will keep himself entertained with his toys when needed. Despite his energetic nature, he knows when to wind down at the end of the day and sleeps soundly inside on his own bed at night.
Joey is looking for an active family who can commit to daily walks and activities or a home on acreage where he has room to explore and burn energy—as long as he’s treated as a true family member. If you’re searching for a loyal, handsome, and fun-loving best mate, Joey is your guy!
If you have any further questions or would like to meet Joey, his foster humans are available to chat.
