Introducing……The Gorgeous, Sweet, Lovebug, Miss Bonnierae.

Bonnierae ticks all the boxes! She is a beautiful, affectionate, loveable, playful pup who is, true to her age, is full of beans. Her tail never stops wagging with delight when she interacts with her carers. Typical of a young pup, she loves to explore the backyard and play with her foster brother who is also a dane mix 2 yr old rescue dog. She loves everyone and everything. Her favourite thing to do is meet new dogs and play with them.

She loves to play ball and retrieves and drops it at your feet. She has great recall as her focus is mostly on her people and being and doing things with them. She is also a huge cuddle-pie and loves to snuggle up for a smooch when her of day adventures is done.

While her people are at work, she occupies herself with games and play with her foster brother. They both really enjoy each other’s company. She barks at him telling him, “let’s play!” She is still a pup and is teething so loves to chew on things, so her new home will need to provide her with big marrow bones, kongs with treats, tough toys and puzzle games that involve food or chewing to keep her happy.

She loves her daily walk, usually 45 mins that includes a visit to the oval where she can lay fetch and run around to stretch her legs. She has great recall and is only occasionally distracted by another game of ball being played by others. She really enjoys meeting dogs when on her walks and is a regular social butterfly.

Bonnierae is toilet trained and her carers haven’t had an accidents inside since fostering her. She goes to the back door to let you know she wants to go outside. She sleeps through the night on a bed near the back door after adjusting to this, as she was an outside dog before coming into care. She is happy to sleep on a frame bed outside when her people are out and sometimes at night if she chooses to. She comes in after dinner to chill out with her foster family and snuggling into her bed along with a tummy rub.

Ideally, Bonnierae’s new home will be one where she is included as part of the family. She is very smart and learns quickly. Bonnierae’s new home will need a resident mentor dog or another young dog equal in energy and size for company, as we believe all dogs need a friend. A mentor dog who knows the ropes but loves a playmate would be a perfect match for our girl. She will enjoy a daily walk for exercise and to keep her in touch with the world outside of her backyard, like all puppers do.

She has been learning basic commands like sit, stay etc. using her meals or treats to learn, and that training will need to continue with her new people. She’s a work in progress and we’ve started that and found her to respond and learn very quickly, this will need to continue. She still tends to jump up from time to time and also at the back door, but we are working on that with her.

Bonnierae has done most of her growing and measures 62cm to the shoulder, weighing in at 28kgs. We expect she may fill out a little more over the next 6 months however will not be any taller. She’s on the smaller side for a dane, but still a long legged beauty!
