About Max
Max is a sweet, gentle and cautious boy, taking his time to check things out and learn all about the big world. At home where he is confident, Max is playful, curious, and just full of joy, with a big beautiful smile that will always brighten your day.
Max is in foster care with two other greyhounds in a quieter country town. It suits him as he has lovely walks in quiet areas including bush trails. He will adapt to life if the suburbs buy maybe not the busy city.. Max enjoys a 40 minute walk each day and grows in confidence with his greyhound siblings showing him the way. He also gets to play in his yard, tossing toys around or checking out any new smells.
In the house, Max is quiet and independent. He likes to know what you are up to but doesn’t need to follow you from room to room. He is discovering toys too. Max particularly loves squeaky toys, so much so that they need to be confiscated late at night otherwise you will hear squeaking till the small hours. Without his squeaky he will settle on his bed and snooze well till morning. He prefers to sleep close to his humans.
Max is also a bit of a souvenir hunter. He likes to borrow various items like shoes, socks even underpants to add to his collection on his bed. He will also take a toy from the basket to add to his bed one by one to make a toy castle. He is very proud of his construction. Max has learnt to enjoy visitors that come to the home. He will soon warm up to them, particularly if they offer him a treat or a pat. Also, if walking in a larger group where there a lots of passers by he will look to stay close to his humans for comfort. Max is still learning about meeting new dogs, every day he becomes more relaxed and confident.
Max has been happy left at home for the full working day with his foster siblings and toilet access. Max has been home alone completely for a few hours but would prefer company.
Max is a gorgeous black beauty with an elegant tuxedo patch on his chest and matching white toe socks. He has the warmest big caramel eyes that will melt your heart when he gives you such loving looks.
Max may not be a city slicker but will be the perfect addition to a quieter home in the burbs or country.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option
