About Zelda
Looking for a gentle, sweet-natured female puppy that will grow into a large, loyal and loving family dog?
Meet Zelda, an affectionate and placid Neapolitan Mastiff/Rottweiler puppy with a heart as big as her paws. She was born on 29 August 2024.
The Neo Rottie is a large dog that's regarded as an affectionate, loyal and protective family pet, qualities Zelda is sure to inherit. But with big dogs come big responsibilites, including training, exercise, and care. In particular, large dogs need to be obedience-trained and well socialised from a very young age, so if Zelda sounds like your kind of pup, read on.
The Neo, as they’re often nicknamed, has a reputation for being a cuddly, but rather large, lapdog. Generally wary of strangers, these steady and dependable dogs just want to be with their people. The Neo will defend their family with ferocity if need be, but they’re not aggressive without reason. In fact, the Neo is a quiet dog that rarely barks. With firm and loving guidance, the Neapolitan Mastiff is a delightful and devoted large family dog that will love you, your family and your home with every ounce of its being.
The Rottweiler we know today descends from mastiffs that lived in the Roman Empire more than 2,000 years ago. An ancient breed, they have a long history of being loyal, eager to please, playful and highly trainable companions, qualities ingrained in Zelda’s DNA.
She will flourish in a home where she is regarded as an integral member of the family. It is crucial for potential applicants to know she will not do well if left alone in the backyard for lengthy periods.
So if you are a strong and confident dog lover and you're looking to welcome an intelligent, affectionate, and loyal dog into your life, Zelda could be the girl for you.
She is offered for adoption under the terms of our Deferred Desexing Program, which means she can go to her new home undesexed on the condition that her new family have her desexed at our cost when age appropriate. Terms and conditions apply.
If you wish to express interest in Zelda, please complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and include photos of your yard and fencing because, as always, secure fencing is essential.
Prior Rottie, Mastiff or large breed experience will be viewed favourably.
