About 11535 - Marie
⭐️🍂 MEET MARIE 🍂⭐️
Nature
Marie is an energetic kitten who likes to play and explore. While she can be a bit feisty and doesn’t mind a wrestle, Marie prefers to chase things. Her favourite toys are small objects such as balls, springs, and toy mice that can be easily carried.
Marie is obsessed with water, so her toys often wind up in her water bowl, where she loves to go fishing for them. Despite her desire to explore, Marie tends to be quite jumpy in new situations and has been known to be startled by loud noises, even when she is the one who made them!
She was always quite vocal, but as her siblings have been adopted and she has been communicating more with her Foster Mum, her vocalisations have changed from mostly growls to high-pitched trills and squeaks, with only the occasional complete meow - still in the same high pitch. Because of this, her Foster Mum has taken to calling her “Squeaks” as a nickname.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Marie has not met a large number of cats up close, but she has seen other cats in her foster home and is quite keen to meet them. Her lack of socialisation means that Marie’s go-to approach is to try to dominate others, who aren’t always intimidated by her growling and direct manner.
There’s also a 40 kg dog in Marie’s foster home, who she is more cautious around, but the dog’s barks no longer worry her. Given how curious Marie is about her environment and the others in it, with appropriate introductions, she’ll be best friends with any fur siblings in no time!
She has only met adults and a few teenagers and has been eager to play with them all once she overcomes her initial caution.
Likes / Dislikes
Marie uses her litter tray like a pro. She has wet food in the morning and at night, and loves her bickies to snack on in between.
Marie loves exploring and trying new things, always on the hunt for her next favourite toy. As the weather has cooled, Marie has also started to enjoy snuggling under a blanket with her Foster Mum.
She’s getting better with loud noises but likes to have the support of her hooman, as well as a feline friend, when she is unsure of things.
My PURR-fect home would be one with a feline friend, as I find comfort in other cats. I would love a house where I am given lots of food, love and attention, with feline and hooman friends to play with. If you don’t already have a cat, perhaps you could adopt my mum? Since I have become defensive with other cats, having more than one or two cats in the home will mean that you might not see my sweet side.
Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.
