About Bruiser
Hi! I'm Bruiser and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BRUISER
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/3NzApa2jkftw55Tw7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Bruiser until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Bruiser in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• NO SMALL DOGS. I will chase them; small things are too irresistible.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• No little young children as when I'm excited I get very bouncy and mouthy, older children who will be involved with my training should be ok.
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• Doggy daycare and group socialisation classes would be highly beneficial for me.
• A submissive dog is the best housemate for me as I like to be the top dog. But, I LOVE LOVE LOVE people, so I'm just as happy being an only dog getting all of your love and attention for myself
• Large breed experience is a MUST
• I'm a very energetic and playful dog, so any doggy playmate will have to match my energy levels and playfulness.
• I LOVE water and would love to have my very own clam pool to laze around in, or a sprinkler to chase ad frolic under.
• I have a high prey drive so I can't go to a home that already has cats, rabbits/guinea pigs or chickens/ducks as I will chase them.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due to being mouthy & bouncy
• Cats or small animals as I find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead at times, but having daily structured walks should help me improve my lead skills
• Exuberant & full of beans
• I LOVE the water and will splash about in my water bowl, play with the hose and swim in the basin/river. Like I really love the water!!!
Where I need to improve / Training required
• As I have not been allowed inside before I am not housetrained yet
• I can be strong on the lead, especially if there's something I want! - training and walking me in a halti will help me improve as I'm already learning here.
• I am social with other friendly dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me, further socialisation is recommended.
