About Charlie - Urgent - Foster home needed
Meet beautiful 9-year old Burmese, Charlie, an independent and affectionate girl seeking a new home due to a change in circumstances for her current family.
Charlie enjoys long, lazy sleeps, the occasional episode of the zoomies, and cuddles in bed. She would love someone around for company more often than not so a family member not working or with varied VCE or Uni hours would be perfect. Please note we are looking for a family not a sharehouse thankyou.
She’s been around dogs since she was a kitten so she’s familiar with them although prefers to keep her distance.
She's not had much exposure or positive interactions with other cats.
Previously an outside cat which resulted in a broken leg 2 years ago, we are seeking an inside home to keep her from further harm, however the best transition and ongoing contentment with inside living will come from a large-ish house with plenty of space to explore and a family willing to include her in daily life.
If you're looking for a middle aged cat who will fit into your quiet, feline-loving, older-children family Charlie is the girl for you 🐈⬛🐾🌸
Medical notes
Charlie is currently being treated for a bladder infection with antibiotics and antiinflammatories.

💕💕💕💕💕
Sunny Days is a registered charity, foster care network and private shelter, focusing on the rescue, rehab and rehoming of cats who've never had experience with humans, and of dogs who may not have been given a chance by others. You can support us by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page or further options at the bottom of this section. Thankyou!
💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH CATS:
We run a donation funded shelter in semi-rural Avalon, that was previously used for dog breeding. When we took ownership of the property, our hard working volunteers spent many months transforming the building into a bright and colourful environment featuring 7 large, fully enclosed pens capable of housing 8 wild-born cats. We take in full cat colonies, pregnant and nursing mothers, ophan kittens, FIV positive cats, and sick or injured cats. Cats are humanely trapped after being identified as un-owned; we don't take in domesticated cats and have extensive processes to ensure cats trapped are true strays as opposed to owned. We don't give cats deadlines to be socialised by or they'll be euthanised, we provide sanctuary for them for as long as they need.
💕 ABOUT OUR WORK WITH DOGS:
We take in dogs from community surrenders, owned arranged euthanasia's which vets have intervened on, and greyhounds retired from or not suitable for racing. Most of our dogs are with us for extended periods to ensure we know them really well before putting them up for adoption, and have been assessed by professional dog trainers if not worked with extensively. We provide full discretion with adopters about dogs' health and behaviour and ongoing support to integrate adopted dogs into new homes, families and lifestyles. The success and longevity of our dogs' adoptions is very important to us.
💕 CAN YOU HELP US?
As a small team without government or corporate funding, our services are in constant demand and our resources stretched. You can donate directly to the animal in this profile by clicking the pink DONATE button on this page, or contact us if you'd like to sponsor a street cat's rehab and housing which usually takes one year minimum but more often longer.
