About Marko
***WE'RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR FOSTER CARERS TO HELP US OUT SO IF YOU THINK YOU CAN PROVIDE A TEMPORARY HOME FOR ONE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL CATS PLEASE LET US KNOW. THE MORE CARERS WE HAVE AVAILABLE TO LEND A HAND THE MORE CATS WE CAN HELP REHOME***
Marko is an extremely loving and calm-natured cat who truly just wants to be loved and cared for. He is the sweetest little gentleman and does not have a mean bone in his body. He adores pats, particularly on his head, and he loves his food.
Marko was on death row in a pound when an amazing person found him and saved him from being euthanized. Sadly they could not keep him themselves so they reached out to us to find him and new home and but were kind enough to look after him until we had space available to take him on.
Despite being with them for a short time he obviously made an impression as they were very sad to see him go.
Marko would do really well in a nice quiet and easy going environment where he could snuggle up on a couch or a comfy bed alongside his human companion. He has a very chilled out personality and as long as he has a comfy place to nap and a human to give him a cuddle he's a happy man.
Although he does adore human company, being an older cat he is also very independent. He will be keen to have a cuddle when you are near by but is otherwise happy to chill out and do his own thing when you are not around. He's not super active and doesn't play too much, he just likes to hang out, have a stroll around and watch the world go by.
Marko is used to being an indoor / outdoor cat but hasn't had any issues settling into an indoor only lifestyle in his new foster home. So far he seems very chilled around the resident cat.
When it comes to food, Marko isn’t at all fussy. Any food and lots of it. In his previous home he particularly appeared to enjoy the cat food brands ‘Dine’ as well as ‘Royal Canin,’ but is fine with any other brand. He can eat quite a bit for a little guy so buying in bulk is recommended.
He is very friendly with other cats but whether he gets along with dogs or other animals is unknown. When it comes to strangers, he can be slightly timid and cautious but once food and pats are involved he’s all yours.
Marko is a true couch potato and would benefit from a warm, comfortable and relaxed environment with not a lot going on and where there is always someone around to keep him company. A homebody or retiree looking for a smoochy and loving companion would be ideal.
Overall, Marko is a very sweet, affectionate and loving cat who loves attention and craves companionship. Anyone would be extremely lucky to get to know a sweetheart like this little guy.

A little about us:
Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rescue service, run by one passionate individual with the help of friends and volunteers, that is dedicated to keeping cats out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them.
Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with government resources, a large facility and a lot of staff. Our tiny rescue is a one man operation run from the safety of our own home. We do this for the love of animals and our only agenda is to save as many cats as we can. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive. Every cent we receive from donations and adoption fees is used to keep our rescue running and cover the cost of food, water, litter, equipment and vet bills for the animals in our care.
We are doing as much as we can right now but our dream is to one day be able to purchase a larger property or facility that would allow us to be able to save the lives of many more cats in need. Perhaps even open a cat cafe so that we can spread our message to a wider audience.
We have recently created a Go Fund Me towards this end so if you would like to donate towards our cause please follow the below link.
