Meet Asher the Jug (Pug x Jack Russell)

Asher is the perfect blend of laid-back and playful, especially when paired with the right doggy friend! With a heart of gold, he enjoys the simple pleasures in life—a good belly rub, a cozy snooze, a roll around in the grass and quality time with his human companions. Easy-going and low-maintenance, Asher would make an excellent addition to any household.

Despite appearances, Asher is not particularly food-driven, well unless there is a potato cake nearby. He’s been a man of many treats in his former life but now he’s focused on his fitness goals and is committed to getting back to his former youthful self. He will require someone who’s committed to continuing his weight loss journey.

Activity Level:
Asher loves a walk and trips to Altona dog beach, but he's not one for long hikes just yet. He shows his excitement by engaging in a playful tug of war with his lead and walks like an absolute charm. He can be a little dog reactive depending on the dog, so it’s best to correct him on this as soon as he shows an interest.

Friends and Family:
Asher enjoys the company of other dogs and would happily share his home with another canine companion. He currently lives with an 11-year-old Cocker Spaniel and 1-year-old Dachshund Frankie who is also available for adoption through the rescue, with whom he loves to play. He’d also be comfortable with a confident, unreactive cat, but if the cat’s not a fan of dogs, Asher won’t hesitate to mirror that.

Asher is great with kids of all ages due to his laid back personality and would be a cherished family member by all.

Grooming & Health:
Asher’s coat is low-maintenance, but he does shed a little, so daily brushing will help keep things neat and tidy. His pearly whites are sparkling after a recent dental clean, and he’s been treated for an ear infection that will require monitoring.
In true Pug style, he’s not a fan of nail beauty treatments but with a bit of patience, you can be sure to get the job done.
