Chewy is an intelligent and playful dachshund who combines independence with affection. His bright, curious nature makes him a delightful companion, and he's already shown tremendous progress in his foster home alongside two dachshund sisters.
Personality Highlights
Chewy is a quick learner who responds instantly to his name and the "come" command, especially when treats are involved! While he can be independent and enjoys exploring the yard on his own, he also loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping in bed with his humans. He's particularly fond of tennis balls and playtime, though he needs durable toys due to his enthusiastic chewing habits.
Current Training Progress
·       House Training: Well on his way to being fully house trained, reliably using the yard during daytime hours. Still needs some support with nighttime routines.
Lead Skills: Enjoys walks and car rides but is working on reducing pulling during walks due to his excitement.
·       Social Skills: Making steady progress in meeting new people. Initially cautious but warms up with patience and treats. Currently working on reactions to other dogs during outings.
Daily Care
·       Diet: Thrives on Leaps & Bounds Chicken & Rice Small Breed Dog Food
Exercise: Enjoys active playtime and regular walks
Sleep: Settles well through the night when sleeping with family
