About W2646 - Shelby
Hello, i am "shelby" and i am a lovely adult eastern long neck turtle looking for a new home. I was brought into lort smith after i escaped from my previous home and i was clipped by a lawn-mower. Now that my shell is healing up, i am looking for a new home where i can live out the rest of my long days. However, i do need someone who can look after me as it may take anything up to a year for my shell to heal completely. As an eastern long neck, you do not need a licence to keep me, but i do need someone who is aware of the care that turtles need - a nice big aquarium or pond to live in, with plenty of hiding spots and a comfortable log or rock to bask on. As i was a pet before, i am very friendly and comfortable with people handling me, and i would do well in an indoor enclosure - i'm not really suited to going out into the wild. Turtles like me can live for a very long time if we are cared for properly, so although i may not be the most cuddly pet you could have, i know that i'll be with you for many years to come! if you think that you can provide all the care i need and would like to meet me, please come in to the lort smith shelter any day from 9:30am to 3:30pm to meet me - i'm currently living in an aquarium in the kennels. Or if you would like any further information, please call the kennels staff on 9321 7260 and they can help you out
