About Iggy
I may look (and act) like a princess now but believe me, this has been a recent development.
My life before rescue was filled with neglect and although you wouldn’t know it now, this is the first time in my life that I have had the care that I needed.
I came into rescue unexpectedly. My owner had booked me into the vet to be “put to sleep,” whatever that means. I think it was probably because my skin felt like it was on fire, my eyes were infected, my ears were full of pus, and I was struggling to breathe. I even walk strangely due to my pelvis becoming deformed when my owners tried to breed me, and the babies got stuck. Maybe they just wanted me to get a good sleep?
They never came back for me but when they left, I heard that I wouldn’t be getting the “sleep” I was expecting because I was going to get my second chance.
My whole body hurt, and the staff had to wrap me in a towel to hold me because the infection was making my skin slough away.
I needed lots of vet visits and surgeries to get on top of all my health issues and to help me breathe, I will always have sensitive skin, it can be well managed with diet. I do sometimes need injections when it gets bad, but they are not overly expensive, and they provide great relief.
Now, back to me being a princess………
I am an absolute character. I am a little lady who know what she wants (and what she doesn’t)
I LOVE toys. I play fetch and I will definitely keep you amused with my silly antics.
I love to sleep on the human bed, and I love being with my humans (especially my foster dad!) and I adore kids!
I sound pawfect right? Well, this is the one thing you do need to know. Being the princess that I am, I like my kingdom to myself. I do not like other dogs in any way, shape or form. Not at my home, not on walks, not in parks, nowhere! As far as I am concerned, I should be the only dog within eyesight or earshot!
Whilst I have shown occasionally that I can tolerate other dogs initially, it always ends the same way. It’s a BIG FAT NO FROM ME!
I am currently hanging out with my foster humans at Coolum Beach (I love the beach!) and I would love to meet you!
I will be turning 4 in March so I am still a young dog. I am a little French Bulldog, weighing around 10kg.
