Hi there! I’m Churros, and I’m like a teddy bear, but with four paws and a wagging tail! I absolutely love snuggles, yummy food, and naps (lots of naps!). I might be a little shy at first, but if you want to win my heart, just bring on the wet dog food and some gentle pats, and I’m yours forever!
I’m almost a toilet training pro (I might have the occasional little oopsie), and I’m super comfy sleeping in my crate from 10pm to 7am. I’m a big fan of routines, and I picked up my foster family’s schedule in no time—bedtime, potty time, snack time, and even when foster mum is working!
I’m all about my humans and will do anything to make them smile. I get along great with other dogs, and I really like having a doggy buddy around when my humans are away.
Now that I know food is always there for me, I’m starting to learn that I don’t need to sneak any of my humans’ food (but I’ll need some help with that!). I’m also discovering how fun dog toys can be! Plushies and ropes are my absolute faves! I’m still figuring out how to share toys with my doggy pals, but don’t worry—I’ll share anything with you because you’re my #1 favorite!
Since I’m a bit shy and super sweet, I prefer gentle play—things like a soft game of chase or just some cuddles. Wrestling and rough play are a little scary for me, and I’m not a big fan of other dogs jumping all over my face. If I get lucky enough to have a canine sibling, they’ll need to be as sweet and gentle as me!
I live with two kitties right now, and while I’m really curious about them, they’re a bit too scary for me, so I like to keep my distance for now.
I’ve got staples in my eyes right now, but don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt at all! It might look a little funny, but it’s actually way better than before. You see, my eyelids were rubbing against my eyes, and that didn’t feel too good. The staples are holding my eyelids in place so they don’t do that anymore, and I feel much more comfortable now. I still need to wait for my surgery, but for now, these staples are helping me out a lot! It might look a bit strange, but it’s all for the best. I can’t wait to get my eyelids fixed, but for now, I’m feeling pretty good.
Due to my tough start in life, I was born with a condition called Entropion, which causes the outer edge of my eyelids to turn inward. This means my eyelashes rub against my eyes, which can be uncomfortable at times. I also have a narrow ear canal, which can lead to recurrent ear infections if not properly managed. The good news is that I’m on the road to getting the care I need! I’ll likely need surgery for both my eyes and ears, but I can’t have them until I’m about one year old since I’m still growing. That’s why I’m looking for a foster-to-adopt family who can support me during this time. The wonderful folks at Starting Over Dog Rescue will be covering the cost of both surgeries, and once I’ve had the procedures and recovered, we can make it official, and I’ll be your forever family member!
If you’re looking for a snuggly, sweet little bundle of joy to love, I think we’ll be the perfect match!
