About Rocko
Hi! I’m Rocko and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR ROCKO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/uwvdf5sw9tau44B59
NOTE: You are unable to meet Rocko until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Rocko in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Someone who is confident with large breeds is a must.
• To be allowed inside with my family as I become upset when left alone and will cry/ scratch at the door for you.
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I can be abit stress/anxious when left alone which results in barking and possible destructive behaviours.
• I LOVE LOVE LOVE other dogs but I’m a very energetic and playful dog, so I need a doggy playmate who will match my energy levels and playfulness.
• I am a puppy, so I WILL mouth, chew things, toilet inside, bark & cry. It is up to you to train these behaviours out of me. Please don’t apply for me if you are not willing to put in the effort to train me to grow up to be a well behaved and social dog.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• Someone who is confident with large breeds is a must.
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children as I am a large breed puppy that doesn’t know my own size and will jump up/ mouth and sit on you out of excitement.
• Small dogs, although I love other dogs I am a big playful boy who doesn’t know my size and could accidentally hurt a small dog with all my rumbling.
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• LOVE other dogs
• I LOVE toys, playing fetch and a game of tug-o-war
• Love to snooze on the couch
• I walk well on lead for a young doggo but having daily walks should help me improve my lead skills
• Exuberant & full of beans
• GOOF BALL
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments but it doesn’t take long for me to come bounding out of my shell so I will need a family that will help me adjust to new people/Environments in a positive way.
• I am very bouncy/mouthy -training should stop this
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull harder or if I am in a new environment I do need encouragement to continue walking.
