About Hodor
Meet handsome Hodor, a Rottie Bordeaux pup born on 9 November 2024. He weighs a good 40 kgs and still has some growing to do.
Hodor's mum is a purebred Rottweiler and his dad is a Rottie x French Mastiff (AKA Dogue de Bordeaux). With a pedigree mix that combines the noble traits of the Rottweiler and the placid, friendly nature of the French Mastiff, Hodor is a fine example of the so-called Rottie Bordeaux.
Hodor has been very reluctantly surrendered by a loving family, who adopted him from us when he was about 10 weeks old. Family circumstances have changed dramatically, so Hodor is back with us through no fault of his own.
He's grown into a really lovely, affectionate adolescent. Playful and a bit goofy, he is still a puppy at heart, despite his size. He can be exuberant and energetic, but he also loves to lie around in the sun and snooze the day away.
Hodor responds well to training. He has graduated from puppy school and knows all the basics — sit, stay, drop, leave it. He has good recall and is getting better all the time. A typical puppy, he's can be easily distracted by humans and other dogs.
He walks very well on leash with the occasional heel command. He is great off leash when no other dogs are around. For example, he's reliable and well-behaved at the beach when it's quiet.
He absolutely adores people and is very friendly towards kids, but is probably too big and playful for the very young.
He is very cat-friendly, having spent the past 6 months living with two felines.
When it comes to other dogs, Hodor is well socialised and just wants to play with every dog he meets. He still has a bit to learn about canine social queues, especially when the other dog has had enough. But he's still a puppy with all the enthusiasm and playfulness that entails.
He thrives in an active environment and would do best with someone who has the time to continue his training and give him the attention and stimulation he deserves.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
