About Piglet
Piglet is deaf and sight impaired, his new owners are going to need to be prepared to make adjustments and allowances, and seek out training advice or have experience with dogs with these disabilities.
Piglets new home will need the following:
- Owners that can provide him with a safe environment like, no stairs inside or out, large garden retaining walls etc.
- Have experience training a deaf and sight impaired dogs or prepared to seek a trainer ongoing.
- To be kept on a lead, (walking, long or retractable lead) outside of fully fenced yards.
- An energetic and adventurous lifestyle.
- To be patience with typical puppy behaviour like chewing and toilet training.
- To be allowed inside when the family is home and to spend the night inside.
Piglet is deaf and is vision impaired but his nose gets him around quite well. Being deaf you wouldn't have to worry about fireworks, loud noises and storms but will need help to keep him safe from stairs, ledges and falling off furniture. Piglet has picked up some sign language from his foster carer which will be shown to his new owners. Piglet can sit, drop and shake paws.
Meet Piglet, an adventurous and confident puppy bursting with charm and affection. He is a bundle of playful energy with a naturally inquisitive mind and zest for life. Piglet loves to venture out and about on walks he sniff out all the interesting scents around him. He also loves cuddles on the couch, soft teddies and belly rubs.
Piglet is a working breed pup and is very food motivated, making training him easy and fun. He will need daily exercise, training and mental stimulation and is not suitable for a small backyards or apartment living.
Piglet is a social butterfly who craves interactions with other dogs and people, responds beautifully to positive reinforcements and companionship. He is crate trained at night to keep him safe. While he's still working on toilet training, his progress reflects his young age and eagerness to learn.
Piglets foster carer has been supported by trainers through the Pink Paws Program and his new owners will continue to get this training support if they choose to.
Like many puppies, Piglet loves to chew. He'll benefit from having plenty of safe, engaging chew toys to help satisfy this normal puppy behaviour. Providing him with a variety of durable toys will keep him happy.
Piglet will thrive in an active household that can match his energy and curiosity, and where he has a yard where he can run freely and enjoy playtime.
