Meet Gertie & Tootsie – A Bonded Pair of Mini Dachshunds Looking for Their Forever Home
Gertie and Tootsie are two gorgeous Mini Dachshunds who are not just sisters in spirit but the very best of friends. These sweet girls are inseparable and thrive on each other’s companionship. They often cuddle up together, forming a perfect Yin/Yang in their bed – a heartwarming sight that will melt yours.
Meet the Girls:
• Gertie (2 years old): A long-haired silver dapple beauty, Gertie is timid with new people and takes a while to warm up but will eventually follow Tootsie’s lead and come for
A pat. She absolutely loves her squeaky toys and will happily entertain herself (and you!) with them.
• Tootsie (4 years old): A smooth-coated red sweetheart, Tootsie craves attention and will soak up the belly rubs all day. She is very food motivated which will help you win her heart.
Their Ideal Home:
Gertie and Tootsie have had a sheltered start in life and are still learning about the world. They need a quiet, calm home where they can build their confidence at their own pace. A family experienced with dachshunds would be ideal, as they require special care to protect their backs. A home without stairs and a willingness to provide ramps for their safety would be a huge bonus. A secure yard where they can run and play is needed.
These girls are not suitable for homes with cats or children and would prefer to be the only pets, as they love soaking up all the attention themselves.
Out and About:
Both girls walk well on a lead, but may feel nervous in unfamiliar places or around new people. Slow and gentle introductions will help them feel safe and secure. With time, love, and patience, their true personalities will shine.
